Ramon P Valadez

Ramón was born on January 27, 1938, in Ahualulco, Jalisco, Mexico, as the 11th of 12 children to his late parents, Aurelia Alvarez (deceased in 1959) and Ramón P. Valadez (deceased in 1961).

Ramón led a life filled with curiosity and adventure from an early age. Growing up, he shared a special bond with his eldest sister, Carmen, who lovingly cared for him. He attended the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, where he studied medicine for a year. During his time there, he discovered his interest in politics and ran for student body president, unknowingly passing on this passion to his youngest son.

After the passing of his parents and completing his first year of medical studies, Ramón moved to Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, to join his brother, Manuel Valadez Alvarez, and begin the immigration process to the United States. It was there that he met the love of his life, Georgina Garcia, whom he married in 1965. They shared 58 beautiful years together.

Ramón pursued a career in photography art, working at Ray Manley Studio for many years. He later became a mining dump truck driver at Pima and Asarco mines, proudly affiliated with the Teamsters. In 1984, he joined Jones Photo and ran the art department, dedicating many years of his life to the craft. He concluded his professional journey at Lance Fairchild Photography, retiring in 2013. Photography was not only his profession but also his passion.

Sundays were dedicated to his love for opera, and he would spend hours listening to performances from the Metropolitan Opera House. Ramón had a diverse range of hobbies, including painting, singing, and raising koi fish, which brought him joy and fulfillment.

Ramón is survived by his loving wife, Georgina Valadez (formerly Garcia), their identical twins, Rene Valadez (married to Dina Robles), and Ramón Valadez (married to Lucia Lagarda). He was a cherished grandfather to Aracely Valadez, Marissa Valadez, Daniel Carrasco, and Rene Valadez. He was preceded in death by all of his remaining brothers and sisters. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

A graveside burial will be held on June 19, 2023, at 11 AM at South Lawn Cemetery, located at 5401 S. Park Ave., Tucson, AZ 85706.

Ramón P. Valadez Alvarez will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched with his warmth, kindness, and artistic spirit. May he rest in peace.

Ramón nació el 27 de enero de 1938 en Ahualulco, Jalisco, México, como el undécimo de 12 hijos de sus difuntos padres, Aurelia Álvarez (fallecida en 1959) y Ramón P. Valadez (fallecido en 1961).

Ramón llevó una vida llena de curiosidad y aventura desde temprana edad. Durante su infancia, compartió un vínculo especial con su hermana mayor, Carmen, quien lo cuidó con amor. Asistió a la Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, donde estudió medicina durante un año. Durante ese tiempo, descubrió su interés por la política y se postuló para presidente del cuerpo estudiantil, sin saber que transmitiría esta pasión a su hijo menor.

Después del fallecimiento de sus padres y al completar su primer año de estudios de medicina, Ramón se mudó a Nogales, Sonora, México, para unirse a su hermano, Manuel Valadez Álvarez, y comenzar el proceso de inmigración a los Estados Unidos. Fue allí donde conoció al amor de su vida, Georgina García, con quien contrajo matrimonio en 1965. Compartieron 58 hermosos años juntos.

Ramón se dedicó a la fotografía artística, trabajando en Ray Manley Studio durante muchos años. Más tarde, se convirtió en conductor de camiones de carga en las minas de Pima y Asarco, orgullosamente afiliado a los Teamsters. En 1984, se unió a Jones Photo y dirigió el departamento de arte, dedicando muchos años de su vida a esta disciplina. Concluyó su carrera profesional en Lance Fairchild Photography, donde se jubiló en 2013. La fotografía no solo fue su profesión, sino también su pasión.

Los domingos los dedicaba a su amor por la ópera y pasaba horas escuchando presentaciones del Metropolitan Opera House. Ramón tenía una amplia gama de pasatiempos, que incluían la pintura, el canto y la cría de peces koi, actividades que le brindaban alegría y plenitud.

Ramón es sobrevivido por su amada esposa, Georgina Valadez (anteriormente García), sus hijos gemelos idénticos, René Valadez (casado con Dina Robles) y Ramón Valadez (casado con Lucía Lagarda). Fue un abuelo querido de Aracely Valadez, Marissa Valadez, Daniel Carrasco y René Valadez. Le precedieron en la muerte todos sus hermanos y hermanas restantes. También deja numerosos sobrinos, sobrinas, y bisnietos.

Se llevará a cabo un sepelio en la tumba el 19 de junio de 2023 a las 11 a. m. en el Cementerio South Lawn, ubicado en 5401 S. Park Ave., Tucson, AZ 85706
