Duke is survived by his three children, Richard J. Snyder (Kathy), Katherine A. Snyder and William “Chip” H. Snyder, of Tucson, AZ; and his grandson, Tyler D. Lopez Snyder, of Tucson, AZ. He is preceded in death by his wife, Louise C. Snyder; his father, John Snyder; his mother, Anna Snyder (Wolfe); and his eight siblings.Duke was born on February 15, 1925 in Johnsonburg, PA. He graduated from high school in Jamestown, NY. Upon graduation he enlisted with the U.S. Army Air Corps. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and U.S. Air Force for 20 years. Upon retiring from the military he joined the United States Postal Service where he was a letter carrier for another 20 years. He married Louise C. Brown in 1959. Duke was a great family man and a loving father.
Duke was quite social and made many friends throughout his years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, spending time in Greer, AZ, and visiting his compatriots at VFW Post 8987 in Eagar, AZ and American Legion Post 36 in Tucson, AZ. At his request no services will be held.
