CANFIELD, ROBERT J. Bob was proud to be a native Tucsonan. He was born at the Stork's Nest, December 28, 1927 to Joseph H. Canfield, Sr. and Rachel W. Canfield. His parents homesteaded in the Tucson Mountains in 1927. This gave him the foundation for making much with little. He taught his children that the name was "Canfield" not "Can'tfield, there is no such word as can't." His love for the homestead and Tucson Mountains led Him to develop the Lazy C Ranch Estates, taking extra care not to disturb the natural desert setting as much as possible. Bob graduated from Tucson High in 1945, after which he joined the 152nd Army Airborne serving in occupation in Japan. He attended the U of A and was a lifetime Wildcat fan. Bob was a stone mason by trade, having a reputation for his beautiful rhyolite stone fireplaces. He became a General Contractor building many unique custom homes. He was a talented craftsman in design and quality. Bob was owner of the Lazy C Water Service. He was also a successful Water Witcher finding water where others had given up. He was a good and helpful friend, mentor and encourager. Bob took as his life's partner, a young bride, Betty St. John. There was 64 years of happiness and unpredictable's. Bob was a member of Rotary with 20 years perfect attendance. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #7 where he enjoyed the "guys" in his later years. Bob always had that great smile. Bob is survived by his wife, Betty and four children, Kathryn (Vic) Conner, Sharon Canfield, Rebecca (Daryl) Hiser and Robert II (Cathy) Canfield. 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph Canfield, Jr. He is predeceased by his twin brother, Richard and precious great-granddaughter, Keira Conner. A visitation will be held Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. with a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. at FUNERARIA DEL ANGEL SOUTH LAWN with interment to follow at South Lawn Cemetery.
