On July 3, 2013 Rosa Irene Guillen (Rosie) released her spirit and went home to those who had departed before her. Rosie lived life on her terms. She did not allow the horrific disease that was consuming her body to keep her trapped; she maintained a zeal and joy for life, in spite of it. She was preceded in death by both paternal grandparents Lino & Margarita Guillen. Survived by her parents Rene and Rosa Guillen, brother Rene (Stacy) Guillen, numerous other family members survive her as well. A memorial service will be held on Sunday July 14, 2013 at East Lawn Palms, located at 5801 E Grant Rd, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a rosary recited at 4:30 p.m. A pizza reception will follow at 7:00. In honor of Rosie's favorite "sides" if you are inclined bring Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Cool Ranch Doritos, regular or Cherry Coke. Wearing something with Mickey Mouse is recommended. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday July 15, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, located at 1300 N Greasewood Rd, with interment following at Holy Hope Cemetery. A luncheon will be served at Most Holy Trinity church hall following interment. Rosie's favorite colors are recommended, which were pink and black, or alternatively purple, which is the color ribbon for Leiomyosarcoma awareness.
