Ryan Alexander Dunn was born in Arizona and was lovingly adopted by Glenn and Barbara Dunn, who had long been waiting to welcome him into their lives. After they adopted a second child, Ryan quickly became a devoted and protective older brother. A natural leader, he worked his way to becoming an Eagle Scout with Troop 186, proud of the lessons he learned and the young scouts he mentored along the way. He felt most at home in the wilderness and mountains. After the Aspen Fire in Tucson, Ryan helped replant trees and restore a natural spring on Mount Lemmon, grateful for the chance to give back to the land he loved.
After graduating from Salpointe Catholic High School, Ryan attended Pima Community College, where he earned Associate of Business Science and Associate of Arts degrees, with dreams of becoming an art dealer. Though he ultimately chose a different path, creativity and an eye for beauty remained a core part of who he was.
Ryan went on to build a successful career in the restaurant service industry, rising to become a district manager admired not only for his leadership but for his genuine care for his team. Later, he transitioned into new roles at Citi Bank and Jacuzzi, where he continued to grow and dedicate himself to his work.
With his generous heart and natural gift for mentorship, Ryan welcomed two stepchildren into his life with open arms, and he was overjoyed to later welcome a daughter of his own. His life was marked by resilience, love, and dedication to those around him. He will be remembered for his warmth, loyalty, and the many lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you please make a donation to Scouting of America in honor of Ryan.
