

Sally LaVonne Gal was born April 24th,1944, to Orville & Mabel Bronk in Jolliet, Illinois. When she and her older brother were kids, the family moved to Arizona where she lived the remainder of her life loving every day spent surrounded by the beauty of the Sonoran Desert & Santa Catalina Mountains.
Sally attended junior college in Eastern Arizona University, obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Arizona State University, and a Master’s in Education from the University of Arizona.
She married during college and had two daughters, Sharyn Marie and Lynda Oxley.
Sally taught second grade in San Manuel Arizona from 1971-1998, influencing so many young lives during her career and made lifelong friendships with her fellow teachers.
In 1986 she married Otto T. Gal & they spent 39 very happy & love filled years as “The Gal’s”. Together they built the life they both wanted & supported each other every day into their old age.
Sally was a prolific seamstress, loved decorating her home, and was an avid reader. Most of all she was a very social person who loved people. For many years she volunteered at Coming Home, a local homeless shelter for Veterans, who were touched by her kindness and compassion.
In her later years Sally enjoyed quilting with Grace Community Quilts and often met with her teacher friend group, The Otters. She was strong in her faith and held the Community Christian Church in Marana very dear.
She spent every day of her life with a smile for everyone she met, and her family & friends meant everything to her.
Sally is survived by her husband Otto, daughters Sharyn & Lynda, brother Thomas, nieces Stacy & Leslie, and grand-nieces Brie & Eve.
Memorial Service: May 24th, 10:30am, at Marana Community Christian Church.
