Stephen Kanouse

Stephen Kanouse passed away on September 1, 2024, at the age of 77. He was born in Kalamazoo, MI and grew up in Tucson, AZ. He would then live the remainder of his life in Gallup, NM. Stephen graduated from University of Arizona and he worked and ultimately retiring as a lab scientist at P&M Coal Mine. He was involved with the Lions Club in Gallup and a member of the Jeeps West Club.

Stephen is preceded in death by parents Lynn and Eve Kanouse, brother Alan Kanouse, stepdaughter Melanie Allen, and niece Lisa Kanouse. He is survived by his brother Robert Kanouse, wife Clare, and nephews Christopher, Aaron and David; daughter Crystal Kanouse and grandson Albert Lindstrom; son George Kanouse, wife Sera, and grandchildren Ava, Gabriel, and Natalie; son William Kanouse and wife Shantal Begay.

The family would like to thank Mesilla Valley Hospice in Las Cruces, NM for the care and compassion they showed Stephen in his final days, along with Baca’s Funeral Home in Las Cruces, NM and East Lawn Palms Cemetery and Mortuary in Tucson, AZ.

Family and friends are invited to attend East Lawn Palms Cemetery on Monday, October 7, 2024. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:30am.
