89, passed on March 8, 2012 at Peppi’s House Hospice. Born in London, England Terry moved to the U.S. after WWII. She met her husband Lester during the war when he was stationed in England prior to being sent to participate in the D-Day invasion in 1944. Lester was from Virginia and it was love at 1st sight when he met his British beauty at a dance before leaving for France. They married in 1945 and were together 52 years until he passed in 1997.
Terry never lost her love of dancing and continued to dance until a hip replacement sidelined her in 2002. After recovering from surgery she continued to go out and about to see her friends and listen to live music.
Terry had a kind and generous heart and loved her friends and family. She is survived by her daughters Denise, Sandy and Dawn, grandchildren, Camy, Tomas and Pamela and great-grandchildren Gabriel and Anabelle, and her niece Julia Guppy in England.
A graveside service will be held Thursday March 15th at 1:00 at East Lawn Palms 5801 E. Grant Road. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Peppi’s House Hospice. Their staff – techs, nurses and doctor - are the kindest, most compassionate professionals we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. We were truly fortunate to have had their care during our mother’s final days.
