

Thomas Carl Hart, 80, passed away on June 6, 2020 after an extended illness. He was born in Hartford Connecticut and grew up in Coventry Connecticut where he was an accomplished cross country runner in high school.
Tom served in the United States Navy aboard the submarines USS Croaker and USS Sam Houston from 1963-1969. After his service in the Navy, he earned a degree in physical therapy from the University of Hartford and moved to Minnesota to pursue his career at the Mayo Clinic. He would later settle in Tucson Arizona and work as an in-home physical therapist for patients with Parkinson's Disease. He also made his living flipping houses in the area.
Throughout his life, Tom enjoyed square dancing and belonged to several square dance social clubs. His other passion was collecting stamps and coins. He volunteered at his local veterans' hospital to share his interest in stamps with his fellow veterans until his illness made it too difficult to continue.
Tom is survived by his daughter Laura Leigh of Northfield, Connecticut, her husband Robert, and granddaughters Rachel and Savannah. He is also survived by his brother Robert Hart of Florida, sister Holly Milano of South Carolina, and sister-in-law Roberta Hart of North Carolina. He is predeceased by his father Peter Slomcinski, mother Caroline Hart, step-father Robert Hart, brothers Bruce Slomcinski and Malcolm Hart, and sister Maureen Slomcinski. Tom will be fondly remembered by his friend since high school, Lois Von Husen of Phoenix Arizona.
Tom's family wishes to thank Larry Sampson for being his caregiver and friend during his illness and the kind and compassionate staff at The Groves Assisted Living Home.
