"The one that got away" One summer weekend Tom and I were down at Arivaca lake the fishing was slow and we weren't having much luck anyhow Tom decided to cruise across the lake to this ledge that was exposed at the time me sitting at front meant that I would get to cast first at the front of it . Tom always said "The bite will be so shuttle it will feel like a tap" sort of like a dragon fly running into the tip of your rod. If you don't know this you'll just excuse this as just some little blue gill or minnow trying to eat your bait . So I flipped my bait over to the ledge and felt this suttle tap leaned forward reard back and when I set the hook it felt like I had hooked a log under the water for a split second but this was not a log . This big ol bass came hauling butt out of the hole and started heading for open water then all of a sudden it turned around came back to one side of the boat and snapped my line on the Stearne of the boat it happened so fast I didn't have the experience to gain control of this" big ol Hawg" as Tom would say. Tom told me things about Bass fishing he wouldn't tell others I will always cherish those things. In fact I wish he would have hooked that fish he knew how to land the "Big Hawg".We never saw that fish but I never had felt something pull my rod so hard thanks to Tom giving me the knowledge even his eyes were big as saucers when that happened. Tom had a big heart he loved his family so much I could tell but he also made time for his friends . Thank you for everything brother.

Me and Tom went fishing about this time of the year during monsoon season we had placed a tarp over the back of the truck to make a tent for the night it started to rain so hard the whole parking lot at Arivaca lake was flooded eventually the tarp failed and me and Tom are holding up the tarp with are hands we were both soaked all of a sudden we hear this roaring sound coming out of the canyon next to the boat dock and hundreds upon hundreds of gallon water bottles came floating out on the lake Tom always kicked my butt at fishing but I caught nineteen fish that weekend Tom truly showed me how to Bass fish He had what it took to be professional fisherman.heck he was awesome at what ever he wanted to do. Love you brother

I miss you brother, I worked at Solar industry's when I met Tom he was very hard working intense, very focused, dedicated, I had seen his boat in the back of his Toyota truck so I knew he liked to fish.After I had left Solar industry's I had decided to try Bass fishing didn't know a thing about it but I remembered Tom and the big Bass he had shown me I think he had the record for the big one at Arivaca lake .So one day I went to his work and asked him if I could go fishing with him. The next Twenty years were the best times I ever had in my life I looked up to him like an older brother we became Good friends  life long fishing partners we wouldn't talk much during the winter but once spring came it was on!I could write a book on the fishing adventures we had .But the most important one is the talk we had about God and Jesus Christ,Tom I know your up there in heaven your smiling and probably fishing It's going to be hard to go down to Arivaca lake without you I'll see you again when I leave this world I love you brother.much condolences to your family and friends

I was deeply saddened to hear of Toms passing. I worked at Solar Industries when he started working  there. He and I had many interactions all of which were positive. My heart goes out to Diana and the rest of the family.
