Tim S Varela

Tim S Varela, a beloved resident of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on January 13, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on August 22, 1958, in Douglas, Arizona, Tim was known for his humorous nature and as a jokester who was truly the life of the party.

Tim's early life began in Douglas, Arizona, where he was born to his parents, Rufina S. Varela and Jose G. Varela. He pursued his education by obtaining a GED.

In his professional life, Tim worked as a cook, a career that allowed him to share his love for food with many.

On February 2, 1995, Tim married Lupe A. Alday, with whom he shared many cherished years. He is survived by his loving wife, Lupe Varela; his daughter, Myra Alday; and his son, Benjie Sida. His family was a source of great joy and pride for him.

Tim is also survived by his sister, Stella Hernandez, and his brother, Joe Varela. He leaves behind his grandchildren, Miko Tso, Nevaeh Gonzales, Enrique-Sebastian-Izaiah Duisa, and Ezekiel Sida, who will remember him fondly.

His extended family includes numerous nieces and nephews, including Jacky David, Bobbie Jo, Elizabeth Hernandez, Victor H., Melanie H., Derek H., DJ Hernandez, Joe Jr., Andrew, Adrain, Cassie, Jaime & Kandy Varela, Alvaro, Barbie, Linda & Lorraine Uribe, Elaine, Arlene Padilla, Claudia, and Celina Alday.

Tim is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Emma Padilla, Grace Alday, and Inez Uribe; his son-in-law, Rene Gonzalez; his daughter-in-law, Angela Rogers; and his brother-in-law, Robert Hernandez.

Tim was preceded in death by his mother, Rufina S. Varela; his father, Jose G. Varela; his sister, Rufina Varela; his brother, Pablo Varela; his brothers-in-law, Rene Alday and Raul Alday; and his mother-in-law, Susie Alday.

In his personal life, Tim had a passion for fixing cars and enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley. He was known for his love of dancing, often emulating the style of Elvis himself.

Tim's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of humor, love, and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
