Virginia Petrella

Virginia was born September 1, 1928, in the "Little Italy" section of the Bronx, New York to Caterina and Natale Tedeschi. She was the youngest of 8 children in a family that moved to America from a small town outside of Genoa, Italy. Virginia & Armond met in Jr. High School when he offered to carry her books home after classes had ended. They married in 1951.

Primarily, Virginia was a devoted wife and mother whom, although was a dedicated worker in the NYC Public School System, was a tireless homemaker who could never say no to her children or anyone who needed her help. She was able to face all the challenges of life with a natural grace, dignity and great sense of humor. She will be remembered as the chrished heart of the family. Virginia is survived by sister, Ida Maiello, daughters Lorraine Adamek of Brandon, FL, Christine Petrella of Tucson, AZ, and son, Steven Petrella of Elmont, NY. Her light continues to shine through her grandchildren: Jason & Jeffrey Fusco, James and Leah Tiscione, Danielle & Melanie Petrella, John Adamek & Christina Andaloro. Memorial Services will be held at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd., Tucson AZ on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM
