Ginny discovered her love for music at an early age, learning to play the piano around the age of five. By her teenage years she was already serving as a church pianist, beginning a lifelong ministry through music that would span more than 90 years. The piano was her way of serving the Lord, and she faithfully used that gift in churches, camp meetings, and gospel gatherings throughout her life. She also played with close friends Sid and Peachie Allen and their son Bruce as part of The Good News Quartet. Through her playing, Ginny encouraged worship and brought comfort and joy to countless people. For nearly a century, her piano was not just an instrument—it was her ministry.
As a teenager she met the love of her life, Earl Robold. They were married in 1946 in Muncie, Indiana and shared more than 72 wonderful years together. Their marriage was marked by devotion, faith, and a shared commitment to serving the Lord. Earl preceded her in death in 2018, and she missed him dearly in her later years.
In 1961, Ginny and Earl moved to Tucson, Arizona. After raising their four children, Ginny began a long career as a food preparer at Palo Verde High School in the Tucson Unified School District, where she worked for over 20 years. She and Earl also enjoyed traveling together and over the years visited nearly every state in the United States.
Ginny was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her four children: Shirley Veatch; Susan (Mark) Paffenroth; Dave (Marla) Robold; and Doug (Kim) Robold. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Mom was blessed to have two very faithful and loving caregivers the last few years we affectionately called "The Debbies," ( Debbie Babers and Debbie Allen).
Above all else, Ginny loved the Lord with all her heart. As the wife of a Church of God preacher, she faithfully supported her husband in ministry and devoted her life to serving through music. She played the piano for church services and for many weddings of her children and grandchildren, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of faith and music. Countless people will remember her by her piano playing. The video is "On The Winning Side" as we know she was.
A graveside service will be held on March 20, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at South Lawn Cemetery.
