Wayne Eugene Mast

64, of Huachuca City passed away on January 9, 2022, in Tucson Medical Center.

Wayne was born on March 20, 1957, in Manchester, Iowa. The Mast family raised nine children and Judy still lives in Manchester to this day. Wayne graduated from West Delaware High School and joined the United States Army. He went on to higher education and is just short of his PhD in engineering.

Wayne was stationed around the world in many different locations in Europe and Asia. He worked in signal communications and helped to provide the communication from the United States to the rest of the world. Wayne was proud to serve in the US army; however never wanted to be recognized for his service. He retired in the United States Army in 2004 as a Master Sergeant (MSG).

Wayne continued to work for the government even after the retiring from active serve. He built a company that served the government on communication and technology innovations. Wayne continued to mentor young adults that are joining in the same profession.

In addition, to his work life, Wayne built his own home by hand and was known for his ability to fix anything. He was often fixing up cars with his children and passing along his skills he learned along the way.

Wayne’s family was the most important thing in his life. He was married to Emelyn in 1989 in the Philippines. They lived with their children in various locations throughout the world. He always made sure his family was well cared for and put their needs and wants above all else. He was truly happy surrounded by his family.

Wayne’s kindness, generosity, and caring will be greatly missed. He always thought of everyone else’s happiness before himself.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Emelyn; his children, Corey, Cristy, Casey, Courtney; Colt, who is like a son to him. His grandchildren, Aeris, Freya, Rorra, Liam, and Duncan. Wayne was predeceased in death by his father Kelly.
