Barbara Kirchmeier

Barb was born in San Francisco, CA to Holmes and Margie-Belle Pekelo as the third of six daughters. Barb attended Seattle University where she met her future husband, Bob.

Since 2005, Barb was the Administrative Assistant at St. Michael Parish School in Olympia. Her knowledge and dedication to her work earned her an unofficial title of “Vice Principal.”

Barb was kindhearted and a loyal friend with a magnanimous personality. Barb was generous with her time, strong in her faith, and was selfless towards the needs of others. She enjoyed baking, gardening, walking her dog, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Barb was preceded in death by her father, Holmes; and father-in-law, Harlan.

She is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob); her daughters, Kierstin and Allison; her son, David; mother, Margie-Belle; her sisters Alexis, Ramona, Deb, Melanie, and Norma; her grandson, Benjamin; her granddaughters, Nalani, Grace, and Leila; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, the third of May 2024, at 12pm at St. Michael Catholic Parish, 1204 11th Avenue SE, Olympia, WA. A reception will follow in the Gathering Space.
