Born Barbara Ellen Turnbow one of six children of Ather and Evie Turnbow. Met the love of her life at age ten and kept correspondence with him as pen pals until age seventeen whereas he asked her father for her hand and marriage and this was granted. Barbara married John D. Marion on October 19 1954. They had six Children; Rose, Celeste (John Rowland) Cecile, Evie (Todd Kirry), John D Marion Jr and Ather (Pete) Marion (Loretta Marion). Barbara has eighteen grandchildren and forty-one great grandchildren.
John and Barbara spent their lives traveling all over the western part of the United States but their homes were always Texas and Louisiana where they were born and raised. Though John preceded Barbara in death of their sixtieth year, she had countless memories of their many years together.
Southern Lady in every aspect of her life she was beyond amazing in her gifts of love, her strengths and ability to turn a greasy spoon into a feast. Gentle and loving soul that everyone called mom, grandma or granny. She is loved my many and will be missed by all.
