Carol Louise Van Gilder, 71, of Olympia Washington, passed away June 11, 2019. She was born in Chehalis Washington on July 13, 1947. Carol graduated from Centralia College with an Associate's degree. She was married to Hal Ralston Van Gilder on September 27, 1966, in Vancouver, Washington.
Carol retired in 2014 from the Washington State Department of Licensing; Exams for Engineers. She was a member of the Olympia Yacht Club and President of the Anchorettes in 1985. A member of the International Footprint Association; Olympia Chapter. Volunteered for Griffin Fire Department, Fire Fighter, First Responder and Fire Inspector 1978 thru 1993. Treasurer for the Olympia Wooden Board Association for 25 years. Carol had a passion for civic duty, friends and her beloved family.
Carol is survived by her husband Hal Ralston Van Gilder; children, Donna Louise Van Gilder, Heidi Rae Sheldon (Van Gilder), Jonathan Ralston Van Gilder, Jason Lee Van Gilder, her son-in-law Russell Sheldon Jr., her grandchildren Hailey Marie Sheldon, Russell Sheldon III, and proceeded by her daughter Shanna Marie Van Gilder on May 23, 1973.
A memorial will be held at dusk on Saturday July 6, 2019 at Why Don't Cha Acres, Olympia Washington.
