Charlotte Hartwig, was born in Chehalis, March 9, 1941 and released from her pain February 13, 2013. We should all be so fortunate as to leave this planet with a few dollars in our pocket and feeling no regrets. In spite of battling a decade of diabetic related issues Charlotte endeavored to persevere and she was looking forward to finally having the opportunity to meet Elvis.
Charlotte worked hard throughout her healthy years, from babysitting the south end neighborhood kids to, housekeeping at the Tyee Motor Inn, Woolworths in Denver, Management at the Yellowstone CC in Billings then back to Olympia to work for Safeway and then she took on the challenge of being the only woman working the line at Georgia Pacific.
She loved sewing, knitting, fishing, and gardening and was known as the “bookworm” at the Fresenius Medical Care facility. Some of her last public appearances were at the Farmers Market where she worked with the Master Gardeners.
Some say that she was brave to make a final decision concerning her life, however, the bravest thing she possibly did was to get up three days a week and drag herself into dialysis treatment.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Ernestine Swanson, brother Clifford(Hilda) and brother –in- law Barney Boe. She is survived by her sister Carole Boe and her brother Charles Swanson, along with a long list of nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will be held 2:00, March 9th at Mills and Mills Funeral Home.
