Cheryl MaryAnn Huber (Embry) left this life August 7, 2021 to be with God, who she loves, and is walking streets of gold. Born October 3, 1943 to Tyson Brown Embry and Jewell Vesta Embry (Erekson) in the old St. Peter’s Hospital on Olympia’s Westside, Cheryl went on to graduate from Olympia High school in the class of 1961.
She went to work as a dental assistant for Dr. R.E, Phillips and then became a fulltime wife, mother and homemaker. Her first priority was to Jesus Christ. Cheryl married her beloved husband Bill and celebrated 45 years together before his passing in November, 2010.
She was predeceased by her parents, Tyson and Jewell Embry, her brothers; red- haired, freckled Jerry G. Embry (1995) and little brother, Tyson L. Embry (2006). Surviving are her 6 beautiful children; Brad Huber (Jennifer), Julie England (Larry), Debby Smith (Doug), Pamela Iselin (Rand), Wayne Huber and Patty Wehinger. Cheryl leaves behind 2 sisters-in-law; Connie Embry and Peggy Embry, brother and sister, Bob and Val Huber, 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She also has many cousins in Alabama, California, Oregon and Olympia.
Mom and Dad traveled many years in their RV, often to Arizona. They also belonged to a boating club, The Flamingo’s. Favorite destinations were Hawaii and Mexico. We kids kept travel a priority with mom enjoying precious time with her. Laughter wa common especially at bedtime when someone would say something and mom would laugh so hard. Her laughter was contagious so sometimes it would last half hour. Moms favorite thing to do was cook and bake for her family.
Holidays were when she would make everyone's favorite dish. Some dishes she would make 3 versions so those of us didn't get any ingredient we didn't like. Mom loved to please all her kids. Cheryl met Jesus at the age of 5 and was encouraged and loved by the people of God. She attended Bible Study Fellowship, and along with Dad, enjoyed the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Ministry, delivering over 1000 boxes since 1999! Each year Mom went to local highschool DECA classes where so many teachers willingly helped with this project.
Mom previously was a member of NTLC where she taught the toddler class then as a member of True Grace Church, she led weekly women’s bible study alongside women she loved and they loved her! She also served in the widows group and the foodbank.
Mom’s message is to enjoy life, have coffee with a friend, and most importantly learn about God and his Son, Jesus Christ our Savior. “See you at the beautiful river”.
