It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dr. David “Bryan” Anderson, a beloved husband, father, friend, and physician. Bryan was a man of boundless generosity, unwavering dedication, infectious humor, and an adventurous spirit that touched the lives of all those he met.
Bryan was a devoted family man, deeply in love with his wife, Summer, and his four children, Andrew, Logan, Hannah, and Claire. He cherished his time with them, helping the children to complete evening homework, spending time together on trips and traveling, hiking and camping together in many of Washington’s beautiful forests, spending time around a campfire roasting s’mores, teaching the children to ride dirt bikes, or attending concerts. He especially loved attending his children’s sporting events for cross country, wrestling, basketball, and volleyball. His love for his family was the cornerstone of his life, and he worked tirelessly to ensure their happiness and well-being.
As a physician, Bryan was a caring and compassionate anesthesiologist. His kindness, empathy, and willingness to go above and beyond for others made him a trusted and beloved figure within the hospital where he worked. Bryan had the ability to make people feel seen, heard, and cared for as he provided compassionate care for patients going through surgery. Both as a physician and in his personal life, Bryan never hesitated to stop and help someone in need, embodying a true spirit of selflessness.
Bryan’s passion for life extended beyond his work and family. He was an avid traveler, always eager to explore new places and experience different cultures. As a young man, he served a two-year mission for his church in Colombia, South America. After marrying, he and his wife hiked the Inca trail to the terraced mountains of Machu Picchu, climbed the stairs to the top of the Tower of Pisa, kayaked through the canals in Venice, toured Niagara Falls, cliff jumped on the Big Island of Hawaii, viewed the NYC skyline atop the Empire State Building, cruised the Rhine River, SCUBA dove in the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico, and visited over half of the US states. His love for adventure took him to countless destinations, and created memories that will be cherished forever.
Bryan also had a deep love for motorcycles, a hobby that brought him joy, freedom, and a sense of connection to the outdoors. As a child, Bryan loved to race motocross, winning trophies and traveling to races throughout the United States. As an adult, whether tearing through trails in Capital Forest on his dirt bike, cruising the highway on his Harley with his wife, or teaching his children how to ride, Bryan’s enthusiasm was infectious. He loved attending Supercross races in Seattle and Los Angeles, and enjoyed cheering on his favorite riders on TV each week during the race season.
Perhaps his most well-known quality was his immense generosity. Bryan was always looking for ways to lift and bless others and gave his time and talents so freely.
Though Bryan’s time with us was far too short, his legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He leaves behind a world that is better because of his presence and a family that will forever honor his memory. We long for the day when we will see him and hold him in our arms again.
Bryan is survived by his wife, Summer, his children, Andrew, Logan, Hannah, and Claire, his parents, Carl and Nancy Anderson, his siblings, Deb Christensen (Christopher), Christine Bird (David), and Derrick Anderson (Megan), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Bryan’s life will be held on Friday, May 23rd, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Olympia LDS Stake Center, 600 Overhulse Road NW, Olympia, WA 98502.
