

Diane Metcalf age 63, a lifetime resident of Tumwater, died peacefully in her home built by her late husband, Nile Metcalf. She was born February 24, 1947 to Charles A. and Esther Hendricksen in Olympia. In 1965 she graduated from Tumwater High School.
She met and married Nile Metcalf in 1967. Diane enjoyed bingo, bowling, gardening, poker, and crocheting. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Metcalf co-owned and operated with her late husband, Niles Sports Center, Iron Skillet Restaurant, and Porky's Video Arcade for youth in Tumwater. She was also a Girl Scout Leader and Girls' Softball Coach.
Surviving are three daughters Ginger (Dayton), Jackie and Eugene (Kenai, AK) and Launa and Aron (Olympia), grandchildren Alyssa and Zachary Rathbun, Austin and Diana Hunter, and Lauron and Adin Abrahamson, her mother Esther Hendricksen (father preceded her in death in 2009) and her brother Charles B. Hendricksen and wife Gina. Special thanks to Rick and Cheryel Higson.
A memorial service will be held Thursday Sept 9 at 10:00 a.m., at Mills and Mills Funeral Home in Tumwater
