Donna LaVon Nisbet

Donna LaVon (Kirchmeier) Nisbet, 87, passed away on March 31, 2022, at Woodland Retirement Community. Donna was born on July 23, 1934, in Hazen, North Dakota to Agnes (Untersher) and Otto Kirchmeier.

Donna, along with her brother, Myron, and their parents moved to Olympia in 1942. Donna attended Olympia High School. After marrying Ian Nisbet, Donna and Ian moved to the Los Angeles area, returning with their family to the Lacey area in 1962. Donna loved being a homemaker and mother during those early years. After her children were in school, she began a career in sales, retiring from the furniture department of the local Sears store in 1995. Donna was beloved by many and always had a full social calendar. She loved spending time with her friends playing dominos, card games, quilting, hosting small get togethers or going on cruises and traveling. She often spoke fondly of the memories she made while traveling, especially her visits to Jerusalem.

Donna was a longtime member of Church of Living Water. Her family is comforted by the knowledge she is in heaven with her parents and numerous aunts and uncles, most likely playing pinochle.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother Myron (Colleen) Kirchmeier, her children, Linda (Ernie) Marinig, Donna (Phil) Barckley, John (Nicole) Nisbet and Joe (April) Nisbet. Additional family members include her grandchildren, Scott Matthews, Eric (Claudia) Matthews, Mark (Sarah) Marinig, John Barckley, Rachel Barckley, Derek Nisbet, Ian (Hanah) Nisbet, Bryan Nisbet, Alex Nisbet, Tyson Jones, along with great-grandchildren, Zander, Ethan, Annalie, Logan and Ava Matthews, Kai, Jenz and Creed Marinig, Oliver and Izabella Nisbet and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Church of Living Water, 1615 Chambers Street, SE, Olympia on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be made to Church of Living Water. Our family wishes to thank all of you for your prayers and kindness during this difficult time.
