Douglas Allen Smith

Doug was born on August 5, 1967, in Everett, Washington, to Gary L. and Mary Lou (Niclai) Smith. He graduated from North Thurston High School in 1985, and obtained his Associates degree in business from Pierce College.

Doug was a Senior Dispatch Operator for Mason County Emergency Communication in Shelton, Washington. Over the years, he held several jobs with the City of Shelton, including Court Security, Community Services Worker, Building Inspector, and also completed the City of Shelton Police Reserve Program.

Doug loved his spending time with his children. He enjoyed playing soccer and watching the Sounders. He also loved fishing and bird hunting.

He is survived by his children, Mason and Sydney; his parents; two sisters, Gail Randall (Jim) and Geri Nelson (Eric); and four nieces and nephews, Bryce Randall, Devin Nelson, and Devin and Jayda Barnes. Doug is also survived by Kelli Smith, the mother of his children.

Memorial services are planned for December 21, 2014 at 3 p.m. in the Family Center at Mountain View Church of the Nazarene, 940 Israel Road, Tumwater, Washington. Doug was an avid Sounders fan, so wear your Sounders colors!
