Eldon Lee McKernan

Eldon Lee McKernan born September 3rd, 1959 in Springfield, Oregon passed away at 66 years old on March 20th, 2026 at St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington. He is preceded in death by his father, Eldon Ray McKernan, and mother, Virginia Lee McKernan. The youngest of three, he is survived by his sisters Tina Fox and Vickie Curtis. Married to Teresa McKernan for 28 years, he welcomed two children, Raymond McKernan and Nicole Walters.

After graduating from Onalaska High School in Onalaska, Washington he obtained his Associate’s Degree from Evergreen State College.

A jack of all trades Eldon held many occupations throughout his long, full life. From working in drag racing on a pit crew, to being automotive service manager, car salesman, a realtor, and even in radio communications. He had no shortage of experience.

Gregarious, charming, handsome and always quick with a joke he commanded and lit up any room he entered. Eldon was always the fun uncle to Mindie McCoy, Rylee Cross, and Ryan Young. He continued as the fun dad on the block, and a caring and loving father to his children. Not to mention a compassionate, thoughtful son and brother. He had no shortage of friends and family who adored and cared for him deeply, as he did them.

Eldon will be greatly missed. His absence will leave a hole in his family and community that will only be filled by the love, warmth, and legacy he leaves behind. He will be greatly and deeply missed.
