Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Geraldine B. Fuller (born January 8, 1927) passed on peacefully, surrounded by family, at her home in Sequim, WA on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. She was 90 years old when she defeated cancer on her own terms following a brief, fierce battle. The love of her life and husband for 70 years, Robert Dale Fuller, aided and cared for her to the end.
Dear Gerry and her little sister Dolores (“Dori”) Marie Bozart (1927- 1949) grew up in Mason County Logging Company’s Camp 4 in the Black Hills of Thurston County. She attended elementary schools at Camp 4 and Delphi, before attending Olympia High school. After graduating from OHS in 1944, she worked at Mayfield Packers and later studied business machines and technologies of the day through Dietz Business School.
After World War II, she married Bob, her childhood sweetie, and worked in a medical clinic in Rapid City, S.D. while he obtained his engineering degree. She signed on with Boeing in 1954, retiring in 1986 after a distinguished career as a computer systems analyst supervisor in finance, accounting, and contract compliance.
She loved music, dancing, camping, boating, fishing, skiing, bridge, and golf. In particular, she was proud of her seven holes-in-one, and in her progress accumulating master points in bridge. She cruised to Alaska, and during her long retirement wintered often on the Big Island, HI and in Palm Desert, CA. She was a proud grandmother, heading the Junior Program at Meridian Valley Country Club and was selected President of the statewide Grandmothers Golf Tournament.
She was preceded in death by her pioneer stock parents, Goldie Maine Gault (nee Croll, 1894-1975) and Zurulu (“Zu”) Pulaski Gault (1893-1975); by her beautiful sister and best friend, Dori; and by her half-sister, Emma Louise (“Lal”) Slacka (nee Nida). She is survived by her husband, Bob; by her son, Greg Fuller (Deanna Jennings Fuller); and by her grandson, Nicholas Fuller (Celine Ui).
The graveside service for this vibrant, fun loving, generous, intelligent woman will be held at the Masonic Memorial Park cemetery in Tumwater, WA at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 7.
