He had five sisters; Idella Anderson, Lavena Hildebrand, Dee Halstead and one brother; Frank Borden, all of whom preceded him in death. John is survived by his loving wife, Margaret of 57 years and children; John (Lani) Borden of Albany, Oregon, Peggy (Randy) Borden-Swager of Fort Collins, CO, Edward (Sheri) Borden of Bonnie Lake, WA and Tony (Christy) Borden of Olympia, WA. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
John was employed at Pacific Disposal for 32 years. He had a special love for flowers and always kept cut flowers in the home.
John grew up and attended school in the Monroe area. He served in the military for three years and was honorably discharged.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 2, 2015 at Mills & Mills Funeral Home, 5725 Littlerock Rd. NW, Tumwater, WA 98512 followed by Military Services at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.
