Karen Sue Wilcox, beloved wife, mother, sister and friend, was born on November 16, 1953 and passed away from a long battle with cancer on October 12, 2015. Karen was the daughter of Bryant Earl Page and Beulah Mae Page of Richland, Washington.
Karen lived in Olympia most of her teen and all of her adult life. She loved kids and ran a daycare and preschool for over 25 years. She loved her daycare kids like her own children and still kept in touch and had visits from them, now that they are grown, even until the weekend before she passed away. Karen also worked for Black Lake Elementary and other schools in the district.
Karen also loved cooking and baking for others, creating fine beaded jewelry and loved Christmas books and Christmas movies. Karen LOVED every holiday and would share Halloween donuts, Christmas ornaments, homemade fudge, cinnamon rolls, homemade caramels and all other fun things with others to make them feel special on every occasion.
Karen is survived by her husband, Mark Wilcox, four children, Jen (Matt), Tiffany (Jeremiah), Kevin (Alix), Brent (Nicole) and her pride and joy... their 14 grandchildren! She also has one brother, Ron Page and one sister, Christie (Jerry) all living in Washington along with many nieces and nephews.
Throughout Karen's life she lived by two mottos: "Keep smiling" and "Don't sweat the small stuff". She was a person who knew how to get things done and stay positive. She had many nicknames that spoke to her character; Superwoman, The General, Bunsies and most importantly a friend to all.
Karen has left a legacy to all who knew her. She lived each day in constant service of others and her Heavenly Father. She was a disciple of good and had her faith firmly planted in Jesus Christ. She left a legacy of love, charity and compassion for all.
May we all live by her example and carry on her legacy in our own lives. "Keep Smiling"!
We are inviting all who have received one of Karen's specially designed necklaces to wear one to the funeral service in honor of her!
