

Kathleen Marie Hansen (Lugar), age 73, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on February 5, 1952, in Yakima, Washington, to Fred Lugar and Mary Lynne Lugar (Langevin), Kathi was the eldest of six siblings.
She is survived by her brother, Rick Lugar and wife Kim of Walla Walla, WA, brother Ron Lugar and wife Cindy of Lacey, WA, sister Lesley Myers and husband Mike of Tumwater, WA, sister Kim Torres of Tumwater, WA and brother Scott Lugar and wife Teri of Denver, CO.
Kathi is also survived by her two children, Season Moran (Husband Eduardo) and Silas Hansen, and their father, Douglas Hansen. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Derek Hansen, Jaylen Moran, and Mateo Moran, who were the light of her life. Her love and care for them was unconditional.
A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Kathi lived a life full of compassion, laughter, and love. She dedicated many years of her life to her work as a school secretary, where her kind heart and welcoming presence made a lasting impression on students, teachers, and parents alike.
Kathi had a passion for softball, horses, Mariners baseball, and books. She loved the color yellow and had a deep appreciation for time spent at the beach, especially during a memorable trip to Hawaii where her adventurous spirit was on full display. Her sweet tooth was legendary—especially her love of chocolate—and her gentle, thoughtful nature touched everyone who knew her.
She will be remembered most for her unwavering dedication to her family, her warm and generous spirit, and her ability to find joy in life’s simplest moments. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who loved her.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025 at Mills & Mills Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Tumwater, Washington. Visiting hour starts at 11am and the service starts at noon.
