

Velma Marion DeHart. 87, a long time resident of Olympia, Washington, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday December 29th, 2018. Marion was born on December 11, 1931 in Deering, North Dakota to Roy and Velma Cowin . One of Marion's favorite memories is playing fox and geese in the snow in North Dakota! After graduating from High School in Seattle, Washington Marion attended Seattle Pacific College, where she met the love of her life, Byron Paul DeHart. They were married on May 16, 1953. Marion was a very supportive Pastor's wife while she and Byron served at churches in Oregon, Idaho and Washington.
Marion's work career included serving as the clerk in the charities division for the Washington Secretary of State office, as well as a vault teller for the Bank of America for many years. Marion delighted in being both a wife to Byron as well as a mother to her two sons, Roger & David DeHart. She also immensely enjoyed her 6 dear grandchildren, Heather (Micah) Renihan, Byrce (Amber) DeHart, Ciera DeHart, Samantha DeHart, Liane (Tom) Smith and Holly (Andrew) Shumate. Marion had 3 great grandchildren, Emma Renihan, Benjamin DeHart, and Logan DeHart.
Marion loved gospel music and being a golf caddy for Byron up until just 3 years ago! Most of all she loved her LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST!
Marion is survived by her husband, Byron DeHart, her son Roger (Pam) DeHart, daughter-in-law, Michelle DeHart, her 6 grandchildren, her 3 great grandchildren, her brothers, Al Cowin, and Jim (LaVera) Cowin, brother-in-law Jack Mulinix and many nieces and nephews.
Marion was a member of the Westside Baptist Church in Olympia.
Funeral arrangements are made by Mills & Mills of Tumwater, Olympia.
