Mason Allen Smith, 26, passed away unexpectedly at his home on September 18, 2021. Born in Olympia on April 17, 1995; Mason was the oldest child of Doug and Kelli Smith. He was a deeply caring son and brother, a devoted friend, a loving partner and a soft and gentle soul. Mason loved everyone around him and found special ways to connect with and value everyone he encountered. He had a contagious laugh, a joyful smile and an undeniably funny sense of humor.
From his earliest days, Mason was always a Foodie and he remained a connoisseur of coffee, hot sauces and calamari. He particularly loved making homemade pizzas. Mason was a talented athlete who enjoyed being outdoors with his dog; shooting his bow; fishing and being on a boat. Mason was a dedicated Seattle Sounders fan going to many games over the years. He especially loved being able to attend two MLS Cup final games with his family.
Mason worked for Guy F. Atkinson Construction Company and was a member of the Laborers’ Local 252. He will always be remembered for his hard work and his entertaining stories about the jobs and projects he worked on.
Mason is survived by his mother Kelli; sister Sydney (partner Kile Lenherr); girlfriend Abbey Bergquist; and his much loved German Shorthaired Pointer, Rocky. He was preceded in death by his father, Doug.
