Michael Dionne Russell

On March 24th, 2022, we lost Michael Dionne Russell at the young age of 33. He will be remembered for his giant personality, infectious smile, and loving nature. Michael brightened the life of every single person who knew him.

For 15 years, Michael worked tirelessly for Glacier Fish Company. He worked his way up to Fishmeal Plant Manager, and he was well respected by his crew and colleagues aboard the Alaska Ocean. An intelligent man with a wry sense of humor, Michael had several interests including barbecuing, boating, gaming with the kids and constructing firearms. Michael’s greatest passion, however, was family.

Though work would take him to sea for months at a time, he spent every spare minute on the phone with loved ones. While at home in Lacey, WA, he managed to make time for every member of his extended family. Above all, he was a devoted father and spent the majority of his time with his children. Michael was engaged to be married to the love of his life, Yessenia, in October.

Michael is survived by his two children, Ryder Russell & Aleia Russell; his fiancée, Yessenia Rivas-Cebrero; his parents, Charlotte Reynolds and Mike Russell; his siblings Josh Winter, Brandon Winter, Brian Winter, Matt Russell, Nicholas Russell, Taylor Winter, Kevin Russell, Lucas Russell, and Conner Winter; his step-parents Brian Winter and Dawn Ojan; his grandparents Paula Herron, Leighlani & Danny Summers, and Pat & Karen Russell; and a large, extended family.
