Paula grew up in Oakland County Michigan and graduated from Walled Lake High School in 1956. Paula worked for a veterinarian for a number of years through high school and even after graduation. She worked right alongside of him as a veterinarian technician. She surely loved animals, and was a great rider of horses. She learned how to square dance on horseback, and there wasn’t a horse in the world she didn’t love and was afraid of nothing. She moved to California after high school and met the love of her life "John Andrus" in the spring of 1961.
After a couple years of traveling, whooping it up in Vegas and generally having a great time, Paula and John settled down a bit and decided to have a family. They have two beautiful daughters, Tracy and Karen. In 1976, the family moved to the state of Washington. Paula began to sell Avon and did so for 40 years up until her death.
Paula loved nice sunny weather and on those days, you would find in her flower garden, planting, pruning and watching the birds at every opportunity. When she wasn’t outside in her garden, you would find her in the kitchen baking delicious decadent desserts. She loved visits from her friends and enjoyed playing a game or two of cards and pouring nice tall glasses of wine or Kahlua & cream. Her favorite holiday was Christmas; she would decorate the house so that it was not only beautiful but also inviting. She loved her family with all her heart and treasured each and every minute she could spend with her kids and three grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her best. Rest in peace - sweet soul.
A celebration of Life with reception will be held on June 12th from 12pm-3pm at 4803 34th Ct. SE Lacey, Washington.
