Richard is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Donna.
Richard was born on August 12, 1939 in Erie, Pennsylvania. He was the youngest of 4 brothers, all of whom have preceded him in death.
Richard enlisted in the Army at a young age where he served until his retirement in 1985. During his years of Army service, Richard served five combat tours in Vietnam, earning two purple hearts, among other honors. Richard also worked for several State agencies before finally retiring in 2007 after 20 years of service.
Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing pinochle, and anything related to martial arts. Earlier in life, Richard was a dedicated student of Tae Kwon Do, ultimately attaining the title of fourth-degree black belt. Richard was also very dedicated to his faith and enjoyed volunteering at his church.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2012 at Mills & Mills Funeral Home, 5725 Littlerock Road SW, Tumwater, WA.
