

Robert B (Bob) Brigden, age 81, of Lacey, Washington passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2020. Robert was born September 30, 1938 in Los Angeles, California. He was the only child of Beatrice I. (Blakeslee) and Herbert J. Brigden.
Bob graduated from South Gate High School in 1956. He attended Oregon State College where he was a member of Delta Sigma Phi. He also attended University of Southern California.
He received his Doctor of Medicine from California College of Medicine (now UC Irvine ) in June 1964. In June 1970 he completed his residency in Anesthesiology at the US Naval Hospital, Oakland, California.
Bob married Ruth Martinsen at Elim Lutheran Church, Petaluma, CA on August 30, 1959. They celebrated their 61st anniversary 2 days before his death. Children of this union are James C (Laurie) Brigden of Webster, NY; Robert Bruce Brigden of Springfield, MO; and David C (Joanna) Brigden of Springfield, MO. He is survived by 6 grandchildren: Sherri Brigden, James Brigden Jr., and Daniel (Melissa) Brigden of Hutchinson, MN; Jennifer (Phil) Grubermann of Indianapolis, ID; and Adrian and Aiden Brigden of Springfield, MO. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
Bob and Ruth moved to Lacey, WA in 2007 and lived at Panorama where Bob had been active in many activities. He was an active member of the Olympia Chapter of MOAA and had served as their president. He also was an active member of St Mark Lutheran Church in Lacey. Bob made several trips to Tanzania with Safe, a local groups that works to provide education to young people in Tanzania.
Memorials to Bob can be made to a charity of your choice, one that you may have worked with him on might be appreciated.
Due to the coronavirus and related travel restrictions, no service is planned. A family interment service will be held at a later date.
