

Roger was born in Staples, Minnesota to Wilbert Van Hook and Ruby Chapman. He settled in the Pacific Northwest in the late 1970’s where he met his wife, Jeanette of 38 years. Roger and Jeanette did everything together. They enjoyed having family get togethers at their home, watching the Mariners, listening to country western music and were excellent dancers. They could often be seen on Saturday night dancing the night away at the local Moose Lodge.
Roger is survived by his sister Shirley Larrington of Rapid City, South Dakota, son Wade Shoemaker of Bixby, Oklahoma, daughter Kelly LeBlanc of Duson, Louisiana, stepchildren Arthur Rivera of San Jose, California, Frank Rivera of Olympia, Washington, Carmen Johansson of Mukilteo, Washington, Lorie Allard of Casper, Wyoming as well as several beloved nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and dear friends. Roger is preceded in death by his brother Marcena (Van) Van Hook, wife Jeanette Van Hook, and stepson Louis Rivera.
Roger will be missed.
A graveside service for Roger will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Mills & Mills Memorial Park, 5725 Littlerock Rd. SW, Washington 98512.
