Stephanie Joyce Crimps

Stephanie was born on October 16th, 1941, to Edward and Jean Hiltz in Norwalk, OH. There she attended St. Paul’s School from Kindergarten – 12th Grade. After graduation, she moved to Santa Monica, California where her four children were born, before relocating her young family to Washington State.

Stephanie enjoyed a long career as a bookkeeper. She started working first with luxury car dealers in Seattle and Bellevue, then shortly after settling her family in Kirkland, she began her tenure with the Lake Washington School District, retiring in 2003 after 25 years of service.

After retirement, Stephanie moved to the South Sound area to be closer to family, spending precious time with her grandchildren and attending their activities. She enjoyed volunteering for the University Place library, serving as Treasurer for her condominium board and attending Mariner’s Games. She also enjoyed many years of bi-monthly luncheons with her fellow LWSD retirees.

Stephanie was a proud 10-year survivor of breast cancer and approached her new diagnosis with optimism, but the cancer proved too aggressive, taking her from us within a few short months. We are thankful to have gathered her children and grandchildren last summer to celebrate Stephanie’s 80th birthday, providing her treasured memories that sustained her during her final weeks.

Stephanie is predeceased by her parents and her seven half-siblings, including her beloved brother, Reverend Fr. John Hiltz. She is survived by her four children: Martina Crimps (Tom Pipinich), Beth Schilling (Tim), Cecilia Dunn (Kevin) and Dave Crimps; six grandchildren: Maxwell Schilling, Meghan Schilling, Aidan Dunn, Conor Dunn, Scotty Crimps and Abby Crimps; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She will be laid to rest at Mills & Mills Memorial Park in Tumwater, WA. At her request, there will be no services but remembrances can be made in her honor to your local American Cancer Society Relay for Life https://secure.acsevents.org/site/SPageServer?pagename=relay.
