

Virginia Alveda (Lindgren) McGee Virginia, 90, of Olympia went to be with the Lord on Sept 7, 2012. She was born in Dec 1921 as the oldest daughter of Algot and Ellen Lindgren. Her family lived on a farm in northwestern Iowa. She married Charles McGee in Aug 1942. They lived in Chicago while he attended seminary and moved to Wisconsin when he began to serve as a pastor. They moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1949 where they served together in ministry at several Evangelical Free Churches before coming to Black Lake Bible Camp near Olympia in 1977. Virginia was the Head Cook at the camp and was known for her home-cooked meals and cinnamon rolls. After Charles retired, she continued to work there part-time until 1996. She took many trips, including travels to Iowa, Sweden and the Holy Lands. She enjoyed playing the piano and sewing. She was active at Hope Community Church, her church home for 35 years. Virginia's entire life was dedicated to serving the Lord and others. Virginia is survived by her husband of 70 years, Charles; daughter Susan Forgard (David), son Bill (Donna), and son Brian (Sue); grandchildren Alysa Lundberg (Andrew), Ben Forgard (Deanna), Kelly McGee, Kevin McGee, Mitchell McGee, Lyndsey McGee, and Kara McGee; great grandchildren Kirk, Rory, Sabine, and Kyle. She is also survived by sisters Verna Petersohn and Betty Olson and brothers Paul, Dick, and Dennis Lindgren. She was predeceased by infant son Roger, brother Iver, and sisters Ruth and Lois. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Hope Community Church on Sat, Sept 15, 2012 at 1 PM. Memorial gifts may be given to the Hope Community Church building fund.
