Adelaide Silva

Adelaide Silva, age 94, of Atwater, California passed away peacefully at her daughters home in Hilmar,on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. Adelaide was born in Lorais, São Jorge, Açores to Maria Umbelina Cardoso and Antonio Morais Cardoso.

Adelaide is survived by her daughters Orlanda Vitorino (Arthur) of Atwater, their children Marlena Menezes (Mike) of Turlock, Matthew Vitorino (Kodie) of Hughson and Nathan Vitorino of Atwater; Odette Barnard (Jeff) of Hilmar and Dorothy Martins (George) of Hilmar, their children George Martins Jr. (Melissa), Vanessa Martins and Justin Martins all of Hilmar. Adelaide is also survived by her siblings Maria Matilde Silva of Modesto and Gil Morais Cardoso of São Jorge, Açores. Adelaide leaves behind her great grandchildren Matthew and Mylee Menezes, Jett, Malaia and Kalia Vitorino and Greyson Martins to honor her memory.

Adelaide was preceded in death by her husband Manuel Ramos Silva, her parents Antonio Morais Cardoso and Maria Umbelina Cardoso along with her siblings Manuel Morais Cardoso, Maria Olívia DeMelo, Júlio Morais Cardoso, João Morais Cardoso, Rosa Morais Sousa and Alberto Morais Cardoso.

A Visitation for Adelaide will be held Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 West Main, Turlock, CA 95380.

A Recitation of the Rosary and Funeral Mass will occur Friday, August 25, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 20263 American Avenue, Hilmar, California 95324.

A Committal Service will be held Friday, August 25, 2023 at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Road, Turlock, California.

Serving as pallbearers are Marlena Menezes, Matthew Vitorino, George Martins Jr, Vanessa Martins, Justin Martins and Nathan Vitorino.
