Antonio J Castro, age 82, of Los Banos, California passed away at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto, California, on Friday, April 8, 2022. Antonio was born May 9, 1939 in Conceição, Terceira, Azores to Emilia Contente Garcia and Jose Martins de Castro. He lived in Santa Barbara Terceira Açores for many years until he moved to the United States 39 years ago.
Antonio is survived by his spouse of 57 years, Lucia Castro of Los Banos; his son Carlos Castro of Los Banos; his brother Priest Luis Carlos Castro of Brazil, his brother Manuel Castro (America) of Hanford, his sister Maria de Jesus Garcia de Castro of São Bartolomeu, Terceira, his sister-in-law Maria de Fatima Enes of Santa Barbara, Terceira and his brother-in-law Jose Pires Enes of Santa Barbara, Terceira. Antonio is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Antonio was preceded in death by his father Jose Martins de Castro and his mother Emilia Contente Garcia; he is also preceded in death by his sister Maria Alice.
A visitation for Antonio will be held Monday, April 18, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 West Main, Turlock, CA 95380.
A Rosary Service followed by a Funeral Mass will occur Monday, April 18, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Assumptions Catholic Church, 2602 South Walnut Road, Turlock, CA 95380.
A Committal Service to follow Funeral Mass Monday, April 18, 2022 at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 North Soderquist Road, Turlock, CA 95380.
