Debra Jean Brasil entered into eternal rest on March 6, 2023 in her home in Turlock, California. She was born on September 25, 1958 in Merced, California to parents Catherine Richardson and Eugene Whitley.
On April 15, 1980 Debra married the steadfast Fernando Brasil and together they raised their spirited son, Roy. Similar to how most precious jewels of this Earth are formed, Debra was tempered by environment and time. Her brilliance shone through her compassion, which was reflected in her 25-year plus career as a certified nurse's assistant in Convalescent Homes. Debra was honest, devout, cherished her family and found humor among the little details of life. Her luster was such that she brightened even the dimmest of days.
Debra was preceded in death by her parents, Catherine Richardson and Eugene Whitley, brother, Junior Smith, mother and father-in-law, Manuel and Luisa Brasil, brothers-in-law, Helder and Joe Brasil, sister-in-law, Judith Brasil, nephews, Daniel and Carlos Jr., Brasil and niece, Sydney Freitas.
Debra is survived by her sister, Susan Engle (Bruce) of Oklahoma, her husband, Fernando Brasil of Turlock, son, Roy Brasil of Cedar Creek Missouri, and grandson, Richard Brasil, as well as her three brother-in-laws, Jim (Rosa), Carlos and Bill (Brenda) Brasil and one sister-in-law, Noel (Chris) Console and her many nieces and nephews.
We understand that diamonds are among the strongest materials that exist in our world. Though she passed, the strength of her love that is so much like a diamond shines on into the Kingdom of Heaven until we shall see such a jewel again.
