Gertrudes Candida Bettencourt

Mrs. Gertrudes Candida Bettencourt, age 83 “Entered into Rest” on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Doctors’ Medical Center in Modesto, CA. She was born in São Bartolomeu, Terceira, Azores and has lived in Stevinson for 40 years. Mrs. Bettencourt was a Poultry Line Operator for 10 years and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Hilmar. Her favorite pastime was Casino Trips, Traveling and Gardening. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Isidoro Lourenço Bettencourt of Stevinson; Son – Leroy Brasil Bettencourt and his Wife Yavonna of Turlock; Two Grandsons – Bryce and Gavin Bettencourt; Godmother - Eleanor Ferreira and Special Cousin Raymond Ferreira both of Turlock; Sister-in-Laws, Maria Alice Brasil of São Bartolomeu, Terceira, Azores and Fernanda Bernadet Brasil of Toronto, Canada; Several Nieces, Nephews and many Cousins. Mrs. Bettencourt was preceded in death by Her Parents – Antonio and Palmira Brasil; Two Brothers – Antonio Da Costa Brasil and Jose Brasil; Sister – Maria Da Silva.

Services: - Visitation – Wednesday, July 8, 2015 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel, 286 W. Main St., Turlock. Vigil and Rosary - Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 20263 American Ave., Hilmar, CA. Funeral Mass – Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hilmar. Interment – following the Funeral Mass at North Hilmar Cemetery District, 8710 N. Tegner Ave.,Hilmar.
