Ilda Gloria Silveira

Mrs. Ilda Gloria Silveira, age 80 “Entered into Rest” on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at her home in Modesto, CA. She was born in Cedros, Faial, Azores and has lived in Modesto for 51 years and was a homemaker for 61 years. Mrs. Silveira enjoyed playing cards, casino trips, crocheting, cooking, bazaars, praying the rosary numerous times during the day and most of all and especially spending time with her family. She was a member of F.E.S. of Oakdale and served with her husband as Festa President in 1974; member of Our Lady of Fatima in Oakdale, S.P.A. (Festa) of Stevinson, P.F.S.A. Fraternal Co. #38 of Modesto and S.P.R.S.I. Co. #151 of Stevinson, CA. Mrs. Silveira is survived by her husband of 61 years, Manuel J. Silveira of Modesto; Two Daughters – Mary Lou Hernandez (Armando) of Modesto, Mary Fernanda Silveira of Modesto; Brother – Manuel Da Silva Rodrigues (Grace) of Providence, Rhode Island; Sister – Maria Emilia Da Silva of Royal Oaks, CA; 5 Grandchildren – Martha Brazil (Albert) of Los Banos, Michael Pontes (Carrie) of Sacramento, Annabelle Leonardo (Sergio) of Manteca, Charlene Silva (Eugenio) of Turlock and Loren Pontes (Melissa) of Modesto; 6 Great Grandchildren – Julien, Gabriela, Amalia, Cianna, Lucas and Luke.

Services: Visitation – Monday, September 29, 2014 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., both are held at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel, 286 W. Main St., Turlock; Funeral Mass – Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 7820 Fox Rd., Hughson, CA followed by Interment at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock, CA.
