Iracema Soares

Iracema Soares, age 70 “Entered into Rest” on Friday, May 2, 2014 at Doctor’s Medical Center with her family by her side. Mrs. Soares was born in Belém do Pará, Brazil and has lived in Atwater for the past six months. She enjoyed walking daily, attending Mass every Sunday, reading, listening to Portuguese Music and Portuguese Mass on the radio as well as spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Soares is survived by: Her Husband João Varela of Belém do Pará, Brazil; Son Daniel Varela and his Wife Rosa of Atwater; Daughter Isabel Varela and her Husband Edivaldo Rodrigues of Atwater: Two Grandsons, Six Granddaughters and One Great Grandson; Brother-in-Law and Sister-in-Law Manuel Eduardo and Laurinda Vieira of Atwater; Brother-in-Law and Sister-in-Law Arlindo and Diromar Varela of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Several Nieces and Nephews in California and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Services: Visitation – Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. both to be held at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel, 286 W. Main St., Turlock. Funeral Mass – Friday, May 9, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. to be held at; “Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church”, 2602 S. Walnut Rd., Turlock. Interment – following the Funeral Mass at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock.
