José Borges Coelho, age 64, of Turlock, California passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. José was born October 22, 1953 in Ribeirinha, Terceira, Açores to Vitalina Borges Coelho and João Borges Coelho.
José is survived by: his wife of 42 years Maria Sousa Coelho of Turlock; daughter Debbie Marie Silveira (Luis) of Turlock; daughter Christina Maria Avila(Adelino) of Hilmar; son Steve Henry Coelho (Jennifer) of Turlock; mother Vitalina Borges Coelho of Hilmar; sister Terzinha Fernandes of Toronto, Canada; sister Diamantina Couto of Hilmar; sister Lina Bettencourt of Hilmar; brother João Coelho of Hilmar; brother Frank Coelho of Hilmar; as well as his grandchildren Kaelyn Silveira, Kurtis Silveira, Kimmie Silveira, Andrew Avila, Aleece Avila, Megan Coelho and Michael Coelho. Mr. Coelho also leaves many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, and nieces to honor his memory.
José was preceded in death by his father João Borges Coelho.
He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church of Turlock in addition to Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Hilmar.
A visitation for Mr. José Borges Coelho will be held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service: 286 W. Main Street, Turlock, California. A recitation of the rosary will occur following the visitation at 7:30 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church: 1200 Lyons Avenue, Turlock, California.
A funeral service will occur at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church: 1200 Lyons Avenue, Turlock, California. He will be laid to rest after mass at Turlock Memorial Park: 575 N. Soderquist Road, Turlock, California.
