Joseph Alves Teixeira

Mr. Joseph Alves Teixeira passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, Monday December 19, 2016, he was 66 years old and was a native of Santo Antão, Topo, São Jorge, Azores, and had lived in Atwater for the past 35 years. Mr. Teixeira is survived by his wife Maria Teixeira of Atwater, 3 Daughters- Susan L. Davis and husband Jody Davis of Modesto, Teresa Mattos and husband Ryan Mattos of Atwater, Manuela M. Fernandes and husband Paul Fernandes of Atwater. 2 Sons- Joey L. Teixeira of Turlock, Jason Teixeira and wife Katherine Teixeira of Modesto.

8 Grandchildren- Case, Reese, Austin, Haylee, Grace, Matthew, Emma, and Grant. 7 Brothers- Honorio Teixeira of Turlock, Antonio Teixeira of Livingston, Heliodoro Teixeira of Half Moon Bay, Anselmo Teixeira of North Carolina, Manuel Teixeira of Escalon, Duarte Teixeira of Modesto, Jaime Teixeira of Escalon. 2 Sisters- Jesuina Teixeira of Hughson, Maria Carvalho of Turlock. Sisters-in-Law and a brother-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins and lots of friends.

Joseph Alves Teixeira was a devoted parishioner of Saint Anthony Catholic Church of Atwater, he loved to make his own wine, spend quality time with his family, participate in the Portuguese celebrations like the cows parade going with his own ox carts, loved his horses, Joseph really was a hard worker, he worked at Joseph Gallo Farms for 34 years. He was preceded in Death by his parents- Antonio & Serafina Teixeira.

Services: Visitation- 2:00 to 6:00 PM, Tuesday December 27, 2016 at Whitehurst-Norton- Dias Funeral Service, 286 W. Main St., Turlock, California.

Vigil & Rosary- 8:00 PM, Tuesday December 27, 2016 at Saint Anthony Catholic Church, 1799 Winton Way, Atwater. Funeral Mass-10:00 AM, Wednesday December 28, 2016 at Saint Anthony Catholic Church, 1799 Winton Way, Atwater. Mr. Teixeira will be laid to rest at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock, California.
