Maria Silveira Batista

Maria Silveira Batista, age 102, of Newman, California passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 at home in Ewa Beach, Hawaii with her family at her side. She was born in Santo Antão, Topo São Jorge Açores to Jose Inacio and Maria Perpetua (Batista) Silveira.

Maria is survived by her daughter Zita Mueller (Tim) of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, granddaughters Christina DesJardin (Rich), and Courtney Hendricks (Dave), great granddaughter Alyana DesJardin and great grandson Devin DesJardin and sister Guiomar Rosa of Terceira, Açores

Maria was preceded in death by her parents Jose Inacio Silveira and Maria Perpetua (Batista) Silveira; brother Jose Ignacio Silveira; her sisters Serafina Bettencourt; Perpetua Silveira, Antonieta Machado, Amelia Silveira, Rosa Silveira, Teodora Silveira and LaSalete Vieira.

A visitation for Maria will be held Friday, February 3, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 West Main, Turlock, CA 95380 followed by a rosary service at 7:00. PM,

A funeral mass will occur Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 10:00 AM at St. Joachim's Catholic Church, 1121 Main Street, Newman, CA 95360 followed by a committal service at Hills Ferry Cemetery, 1334 W Stuhr Road, Newman, CA 95360.

Serving as pallbearers are Joe Silveira, Everett Silveira, Tony Silveira, Carlos Vieira, Paul Sterling and Devin DesJardin.
