Maria Luiza Garcia

Mrs. Maria Luiza Garcia, age 79 “Entered into Rest” on Monday, January 20, 2014 at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock, CA. She was born in Flamengos, Faial, Azores to the parents of João and Palmira da Luz do Amaral, lived in Turlock since 1968 and was a homemaker for 32 years. Her favorite pastime was crocheting, watching wrestling, trips to the casinos and spending time with family.

Mrs. Garcia is survived by: Four Sons – Antonio Garcia (Gilda) of Patterson, CA, José A. Garcia (Madalena) of San Jose, CA, Mario Garcia (Dawn Roman) of Turlock and James Garcia of Tracy; Two Daughters – Aldina Maria Collins of Modesto and Ana Espinola (Oscar) of Turlock; Sister – Diamantina da Silva of Faial, Azores; Ten Grandchildren and Six Great Grandchildren. Preceded in Death by: Husband – Antonio Garcia on Feb. 9, 1984; Daughter – Aldina Garcia on Sept. 21, 1956; Son – Carlos Garcia on Nov. 30, 1982 and her parents João and Palmira da Luz do Amaral.

Services: Visitation – Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel, 286 W. Main St., Turlock; Funeral Mass – Monday, January 27, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1200 Lyons Ave., Turlock; Interment to follow Funeral Mass at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock.
