Maria Judite Teixeira

Maria Judite Teixeira, age 65, of Hilmar, California passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at home with her family by her side. Maria was born in Santo Amar, São Jorge, Açores to Manuel Sousa Teixeira and Julia (Amarante) Teixeira.

Maria is survived by her cousins Felicio and Magda Sousa of Hilmar, CA and their children, whom she lived with for 47 years and loved like her own; Robert and Dina Sousa of Atwater, CA and children Nick, Andrew, Brayden and Cameron; Paul and Kim Sousa of Hilmar, CA and children Jeffrey, Allison and Joshua (Godson); Sonia (Goddaughter) and Marlin Kindberg of Hilmar, CA and children Dylan, Makayla and Marlin; her brother, sisters and their spouses Leonor Machado of São Jorge; João and Maria Fatima Teixeira of Terceira; Silvina and Gabriel Pavao of São Jorge; Adelina Teixeira (sister-in-law) of Terceira; Julio and Maria Teixeira of Hilmar, CA; Antonio Teixeira of São Jorge; Lena Teixeria of Terceira; and Jose Fernando Teixeira of San Jose, CA.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents Manuel Sousa Teixeira and Julia (Amarante) Teixeira; her brothers Avelino Teixeira; Ejidio Teixeira; her sister Maria and Julio Silveira; and a brother-in-law Manuel Machado.

A visitation for Maria will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 West Main, Turlock, CA 95380 followed by the rosary service at 7:00 PM.

A mass of christian burial will occur Friday, February 24, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 8471 Cypress Street, Hilmar, CA 95324 followed by a committal service at N. Hilmar Cemetery District, 8710 Tegner Road, Hilmar, CA 95324.

Serving as pallbearers are Dylan Gomes, Marlin Kindberg, Nick Sousa, Pablo Andrade, Andrew Sousa, Brayden Sousa and Cameron Sousa.
