Ramona Velasquez Saia

Ramona Velasquez Saia, age 78, of Gilroy, California passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022. Ramona was born January 20, 1944 in San Jose, California to Rosario (Velasquez) Cervantez and Jesse Cervantez.

Some of her favorite pastimes were playing Bingo and cards. She loved to cook and dancing the Salsa was one of her favorite activities. Ramona was also an avid reader.

Ramona is survived by her son Andy Rojas and his wife Patricia of San Jose, CA; her son Miguel Jimenez and his former wife, Gigi of Livingston, CA; her son Vincent Castro of San Francisco, CA; and her daughter Gloria Baca; her daughter Elizabeth La Pat of Livingston; her sister Virginia Pompa and her husband Robert and her sister Anna Gaston. She also leaves behind 27 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Ramona was preceded in death by her husband Leke Saia; her father Jesse Cervantez and her mother Rosario Velasquez; her sister Victoria Robinette; her sister Mary Lou Sanchez; her brother Jesse Cervantes; her brother George Cervantez; her brother Tony Cervantez; her brother David Cervantez; her brother Michael Cervantez; her brother Thomas Cervantez and her brother Fernando Cervantez.

A visitation and celebration of life for Ramona will be held Sunday, August 28, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 West Main, Turlock, CA 95380.
