

Amrita Delalamon Ignacio, age 72, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at DCH Regional Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be held at Saint Matthias Episcopal Church with Rev. Lucian Cronkite officiating at a later time. Inurnment will take place in Damaguete City, Philippines.
Amrita is preceded in death by her parents, Josefina I. Delalamon and Prosfero Delalamon; brother, Sidharta Delalamon.
She is survived by her husband, Alfondso H. Ignacio; daughter, Alma Belle Majarocon; stepdaughter, Almie Jane Duran; son, Jeremy Majarocon; stepsons, Almitchell Ignacio, Alfonso L. Ignacio III, Kim Yee; brothers, Omar Jose Delalamon, Edmund Delalamon; grandchildren, Pykko Majarocon, Danielle Majarocon, Amandine Majarocon, Shaun Majarocon, JC Majarocon, Mika Ella Ignacio, Harjay Ignacio, Maya Duran, Yvanna Duran, Kaylan Ignacio, DJ Ignacio.
Amrita Delalamon Ignacio was born in Malaybalay, Bukidnon, Philippines, on March 13, 1953. She attended college at the Silliman University, Dumaguete City, Philippines, where she received a Bachelor's of Science in Medical Technology degree and a Master's degree in Public Health.
After graduation, she worked as a Microbiologist in the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, and Kentucky, USA. She also worked at the DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, as a Clinical Lab/Medical Technologist from November 2016 until she retired in February 2022.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2025 at 11:00 am at Saint Matthias Episcopal Church. (2310 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405)
Visitation will be on Friday, July 25, 2025 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at Saint Matthias Episcopal Church, Murphy Hall (located behind the church)
